Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and classify transactions using accounting software (e.g., Xero) or MYOB with precision and efficiency.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for clients.
  • Set up and onboard new clients in the accounting system.
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate calculation and payment of payroll taxes.
  • Reconcile ledger and bank accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze key financial statements.
  • Assist with complex accounting tasks, including researching and preparing technical analyses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial data and uphold client trust.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, and industry regulations.
  • Assist in setting up new business entities, payroll accounts, and unemployment accounts.
  • Apply basic tax knowledge to support tax research, planning, preparation, and resolution.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports and fulfill other assigned duties as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software is required.
  • Experience working with Australian-based clients is preferred but not essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, including GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, payroll processing, and tax principles.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-motivated, collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and summarize financial data effectively.
