PAYNESVILLE, LIBERIA – In a significant development for Liberia, BNS Technology Solutions, a homegrown business technology firm, has unveiled the nation’s inaugural international call center, capable of handling both inbound and outbound communications.
Located near Rehab Junction in Paynesville, the facility began operations on June 7, 2024. It can handle 60 to 100 calls simultaneously, targeting customers and businesses in the United States.
Services and employment goals
BNS Call Centers offer a variety of professional services such as customer and technical support, sales and telemarketing, order processing, and appointment scheduling.
Ambrose Sartee, co-partner of BNS Technology Solutions, emphasized the center’s growth potential, aiming to employ up to 120 local youths.
“Our vision is to establish Liberia as a competitive player in the global call center market,” he stated.
The center currently accommodates at least 60 agents, with plans to double that number.
Leadership and future plans
CEO of BNS Ernest Freeman expressed his gratitude for realizing the dream of establishing a call center in Liberia. He noted the company’s initial focus on securing technology contracts with the US government.
Freeman praised Sartee’s vision for creating employment opportunities for young Liberians and driving economic development. “I give all the credit to Ambrose, and I am here to support his dream,” Freeman stated.
Freeman also hopes for government incentives to support similar initiatives, positioning Liberia as a hub for business process outsourcing (BPO) in the region.
Nelson Williams, Board Chairman, encouraged other Liberians to contribute to national growth by following the example set by BNS Technology Solutions.
As the call center begins its operations, the Liberian government and private sector stakeholders will monitor its progress, considering its potential to boost local employment and attract foreign investment.
