VIETNAM – 2026 opens with an increasing number of companies prioritizing cybersecurity defenses. This situation is more than evident in Vietnam, where “96% of companies plan to outsource some or all of their security operations center (SOC) functions.” This is 32% more than the global average of 64%, according to an analysis by the Grand Pinnacle Tribune.
What’s more, Vietnamese companies themselves are found to “outsource not only the implementation of security solutions, but also the development of tools and SOC design.”
Sergey Soldatov, Head of SOC at Kaspersky, says this trend is driven by companies viewing SOC as a “core capability that ensures business continuity.”
Key Drivers for Outsourcing to Vietnam
The Grand Pinnacle Tribune identified three main reasons companies outsource their SOC to Vietnam.
- They contend with recruiting the few Vietnamese talent highly skilled in high-level roles (security engineers, development teams, and threat hunters) available in outsourcing firms’ talent pools.
- They want to maintain uninterrupted 24/7 protection, as 79% acknowledge they can’t sustain round-the-clock vigilance.
- They seek access to outsourcing firms’ advanced technologies, such as Extended Detection and Response (XDR) or Managed Detection and Response (MDR).
All these ensure companies can readily and timely defend themselves against cyber threats “amid talent shortages and regulatory demands.”
