
RIGA, LATVIA – IT services and consulting giant Tech Mahindra has expanded its business processing services (BPS) in the Baltic region by opening a new center in Riga, Latvia.
This expansion will strengthen Tech Mahindra’s presence in Europe, offering local and regional clients a range of services, including 5G, Metaverse, blockchain, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI), according to a press release from the company.
Inauguration and new office features
Tech Mahindra’s new office in Riga features an open-plan design, employee training and conference rooms, lounge areas, and a customized server room. Significant modifications were made to meet the company’s specific needs, emphasizing robust internet connectivity and advanced security measures to support their operations.
The center will employ 500 professionals, adding to Tech Mahindra’s global workforce of over 145,000 employees.

The center was inaugurated by Mr. Tanmaya Lal, ambassador of India to the Republic of Latvia and Sweden, Mr. Jurģis Miezainis, parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Economics, Republic of Latvia, and Mr. Vilnis Ķirsis, Mayor of Riga.
Mayor Vilnis Ķirsis welcomed the firm, saying, “The opening of Tech Mahindra’s new service center in Riga confirms the city’s development and growing competitiveness. Riga is becoming increasingly attractive to global business service centers. The presence of these centers promotes both growth and innovation in research and smart technology.”
According to the Baltic Times, this is the biggest deal in the Baltic office market in 2024, executed through the leasing of available commercial premises.
