
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL, and MUMBAI, INDIA — Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT service provider, has announced a 10-year partnership with Insper, a top Brazilian educational and research institution. TCS will invest R$50 million ($8.67 million) to fuel innovation across South American industries, with a particular emphasis on banking, energy, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Through this collaboration, TCS aims to use cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI (GenAI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and spatial computing to solve critical challenges across various sectors.
Research initiatives under the partnership include satellite-based geo-sensing to boost Brazilian crop yields, reducing downtime on offshore oil rigs, and using AI to speed up drug development. These projects are set to enhance digital capabilities and operational efficiency for businesses across South America.
Bridging academia and industry for societal impact
Bruno Rocha, TCS Brazil’s Country Head, highlighted the importance of linking academic insights with industry needs: “This partnership will allow us access to academic expertise and create a collaboration space for our customers to bring about business, environmental, and societal changes in Brazil.”
This partnership spans diverse industries, including banking, financial services, insurance, energy, manufacturing, and healthcare. By combining physical assets with partner technologies and addressing unique customer needs, TCS aims to co-create new solutions that help businesses improve their digital transformation and competitiveness in an evolving market.

Rodrigo Amantea, who heads the Paulo Cunha Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub at Insper, emphasized the collaboration’s role in advancing Insper’s mission: “The development of engineering and computing projects has been one of the pillars of our institution, and this partnership will place us at the forefront of developing solutions for real-time company problems. It will also help offer new learning and experience opportunities for our students.”
This partnership reflects TCS’s deepening commitment to Brazil, where it has been active for over 20 years. Recently, TCS launched a delivery center in Londrina, Paraná, aiming to create over 1,600 jobs within five years.
