
NEW YORK, USA, and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Accenture has finalized its acquisition of Partners in Performance, a global strategy consulting firm specializing in improving business performance in asset-heavy industries using data and artificial intelligence (AI).
The move strengthens Accenture’s position in sectors like metals and mining, oil and gas, utilities, and chemicals, enhancing its ability to support clients in cutting costs, increasing productivity, and advancing energy transition and decarbonization efforts.
The acquisition, initially announced on May 21, 2024, brings around 400 management and consulting professionals from Partners in Performance into Accenture’s team.
Enhancing strategic advisory and sustainability goals
Muqsit Ashraf, chief executive of Accenture Strategy, emphasized the importance of partnering with clients to navigate the growing complexity and uncertainty caused by technological and economic disruptions.
He stated, “Delivering profitable growth with the backdrop of significantly higher levels of disruption caused by technology and macroeconomic factors requires leaders in the C-suite and beyond to have partners that help navigate this prevailing complexity and expanding uncertainty.”
He added that the acquisition will enhance Accenture Strategy’s advisory and execution services, particularly in leveraging data and AI to improve business and sustainability performance in ongoing operations and new capital projects.
Partners in Performance’s global reach
Founded in 1996 in Melbourne, Partners in Performance operates across five continents and is recognized as one of Australia’s Most Innovative Companies.
Known for assisting clients in achieving sustainability targets, the firm’s expertise will now bolster Accenture’s efforts to support clients in decarbonization and operational improvements.
“Asset-intensive clients need to pursue strategies for decarbonization without compromising on business growth objectives,” said Stephanie Jamison, global resources industry practice lead and global sustainability services lead at Accenture.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
