MANNHEIM, GERMANY – Accenture has announced its agreement to acquire Camelot Management Consultants, a German firm specializing in SAP-focused management and technology consulting with strengths in supply chain, data, and analytics.
Enhancing supply chain and AI capabilities
This acquisition will significantly boost Accenture’s capabilities in SAP and AI-driven supply chains, aiming to help clients develop intelligent and resilient supply chains essential for today’s business environment.
The acquisition will integrate over 700 skilled professionals into Accenture, including experts in SAP, data, and supply chain management. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Accenture’s research indicates that only 9% of companies extensively use AI and generative AI across their supply chains, a practice associated with higher profitability. Camelot’s experience in analytics, data strategy, and modernization will support organizations in laying a strong foundation for accelerating AI adoption.
The firm’s expertise in supply chain management will also enhance Accenture’s ability to reinvent its clients’ entire supply chains.
Strategic benefits and future prospects
Tobias Regenfuss, technology lead for Austria, Switzerland, and Germany at Accenture, highlighted the increasing demand for data and analytics services in supply chain management driven by market volatility and the need for more efficient logistics.
“With our acquisition of Camelot, we will further enhance our capabilities and services to help our clients use technology to address complex and pressing business needs and drive additional value,” Regenfuss stated.
Libor Kotlik, managing partner of Camelot, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, saying, “Accenture’s global scale and service portfolio will enable us to bring innovative ideas and solutions to clients while creating exciting development opportunities for our people.”
Camelot, founded in 1996, is a leading SAP partner in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, serving clients in industries such as chemicals, life sciences, consumer goods, and industrial manufacturing.
The company also operates offices in the United States, United Arab Emirates, India, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland.
This acquisition follows Accenture’s purchase of Einr, a Norwegian SAP-focused business consulting company, in May 2023.
