SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Business solutions provider Fusion5 has strengthened its presence in the e-commerce and retail sectors by acquiring Optimum.consulting, a Sydney-based technology consulting firm. Optimum.consulting specializes in resolving complex tech challenges for various industries, including retail, manufacturing, and wholesale.
This acquisition follows Fusion5’s recent purchases of New Zealand-based IT service companies IntegrationWorks and GoCloud, further expanding its capabilities across the Trans-Tasman region.
Strengthening Microsoft Capabilities and Industry Expertise
Optimum.consulting, a Microsoft partner focused on Dynamics 365 and Power Apps, was co-founded in 2022 by Matthew Lingard, Carolyn Eames, and Mary Ann Tann. The firm employs around 60 staff and brings significant expertise in retail, e-commerce, and manufacturing sectors to Fusion5’s portfolio.
Fusion5 CEO Sven Martin said that the acquisition will enhance the company’s Microsoft offerings and deepen its experience in industries like manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce.
He stated, “We have considerable Microsoft capability and a wide range of transformation, advisory, integration, and CIS (cloud, infrastructure, and security) skills that will complement Optimum’s offerings. Their areas of deep expertise will enable us to go to market with an added focus on vertical markets like manufacturing, e-commerce and retail.”
“It reinforces that we are a local partner who can scale to take on transformation projects of any size,” he added.
Alignment in culture and expanded services
Optimum.consulting’s CEO, Matthew Lingard, highlighted the strong cultural alignment between the two companies. He noted that while there are no major changes to Optimum.consulting’s operations, the partnership will offer an expanded range of services to clients.
“The benefits to everyone – from our team to our customers – have made the decision to join forces easy,” he said.
The acquisition was finalized on October 1, 2024, with Optimum.consulting now fully integrated into Fusion5.
