CAIRO, EGYPT — A Fortune 500 IT services provider, DXC Technology, has recently announced its partnership with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) as part of its development plans to expand its DXC Dandelion Program into Egypt.
DXC Technology’s Dandelion Program is an award-winning initiative that connects neurodiverse people with IT employment opportunities. The company empowers these individuals by providing holistic training and workplace education to help them secure long-term employment.
This expansion follows the program’s success in Australia, Italy, the UK, and the Philippines and aims to build neurodiverse acceptance and career pathways in Egypt.
We are proud to witness this partnership, which reflects our commitment to ensuring that all citizens can contribute meaningfully to Egypt’s digital transformation. The success of our ICT sector depends on leveraging technology to deliver tangible societal benefits. By providing Neurodivergent people with the right training and opportunities, we are building an inclusive, future-ready workforce that reinforces our national vision of empowerment and enables every individual to participate effectively in shaping Egypt’s digital future.
— Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology
This collaboration will run for three years and is set to provide the following:
- Identify, train, and provide on-the-job experience for up to 60 neurodiverse individuals (ages 18-30)
- Training in life skills and technical skills, including software testing, data analytics, AI, infrastructure monitoring, and more
- Inclusion specialist support through consultants to ensure a workforce that is tailored to neurodiverse needs
What This Program Means for DXC and Egypt
Neurodivergent individuals often have extraordinary abilities in focused concentration, attention to detail, pattern recognition, and out-of-the-box thinking. These are valuable skills, especially in areas of IT. By creating a positive working environment and the right training and support, we are giving neurodiverse individuals a way to harness their strengths, while filling vital IT skills gaps in the industry.
— Neveen Galal, DXC Technology Managing Director for Egypt
This initiative strengthens both sides’ influence and reputations through inclusivity and progressiveness. It strengthens DXC’s leadership in corporate social responsibility among Fortune 500 companies and reinforces Egypt’s role in driving community-driven initiatives with real social impact.
With this development, both DXC and ITIDA create opportunities for neurodiverse individuals to showcase their strengths. This not only accelerates the filling of vital skills gaps in IT but also builds a workforce grounded in diversity and inclusivity.
